The Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal held its virtual 2021-2022 symposium on February 11, 2022 on the topic of Prosecutorial Discretion and Mass Incarceration.
Moderated by Professor Anna VanCleave, the symposium consisted of two interactive panels of practitioners and experts. The panels considered not only what level of discretion is necessary for an effective criminal justice system, but what an effective criminal justice system is in practice. Furthermore, the symposium looked at the carceral state in Connecticut and what impacts prosecutorial discretion has on mass incarceration and diversionary programs.
